I know, you're reading this (all 3 of you), and thinking, "But, Dave, what could you be mad about being as even tempered and unexcitable as you are?" Well....
I started the day off paying bills, just like I do every Tuesday, including my Home Loan. I then decided that this was the perfect day to look into refinancing, so I showered and got ready to head to the bank. Bank of America owns my loan. It didn't start with them- they're actually the third or fourth lender at this point- those loans get passed around and sold like a Bangkok whore. As I'm putting my boots on to head out, our esteemed leader, Barry Obummer, comes on TV to talk about his shitty budget plan. He of course talked about 'Fairness' and an 'Economy Built to last'- we're gonna hear those 2 things a whole lot in the next year, and they're both bullshit. They're as big a bunch of crap as 'Hope' and 'Change', but he knows that the American people won't fall for that again. What really got steam shooting out of my ears though, was when he said that we need "Responsibility for all, from all". NO NO NO. We need a nation of people who understand the idea of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. When at least half of the people in this country know absolutely anything about responsibility, personal or otherwise (unless of course, you count everybody else's responsibility to take care of them), we need to make people responsible for their selves, their actions, and their bad fuckin' decisions. I am not responsible for you. Period. End of damn story. I should not be responsible because you made shitty life decisions. I should not be responsible because you took out a loan you couldn't afford. I should not be responsible because you wanted an SUV with 20" rims and now you have no money for food. You know what "Responsibility for all, from all" sounds like? It sounds a whole fuck of a lot like "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs". Fuck that Commie Bullshit!
Anyway, I finally went to the bank. It was an hour wait to see the mortgage guy, but that was OK because I have the Kindle app on my phone, so I just sat and finished Michael Connelly's "The Black Echo". When I finally did get to speak to the guy at the bank, who was a pretty nice guy and didn't try to bullshit me, I was basically told that they couldn't do anything for me. Now, I have never missed a payment or even sent one in late. I have done everything the right way, which is basically why I get fucked. There's the plan (I can't remember what the name is) where you can get your payments lowered, but your loan has to be held by Fannie May or Freddie Mac, but mine isn't. He did tell me that I should shop around with smaller banks and they might be able to do something. What he explained was that a smaller bank can get someone to do an evaluation of the property and play with the numbers so that my house looks like it's worth more than it is in order to get me a loan. Let me explain this a little more clearly: Because of the fact that a bunch of morons took out loans that they couldn't afford, combined with the fact that another bunch of morons gave loans to the first bunch of morons eventually causing the housing market to go down the shitter, my house is now worth less than what I still owe on it, so the second bunch of morons won't give me a loan because they, along with the first bunch of morons fucked everything up. Get it? So, now my option is to pay for an evaluation of my property so that someone can play with the numbers to make my home look like it's worth more than the bank or the county say that it's worth in order to be able to try to refinance. Well, that sure sounds like something shady and dishonest is going on there. A few years back, my house was valued at about $40K more that what I paid for it- it seems a little screwy that other people not paying their mortgages should make my home worth any less. So, basically if you took a loan that you knew you couldn't pay, you can get help, but if you do things the right way, nobody cares. I blame my parents. They're the ones that raised me to be honest and do things the right way. If they had raised me to be a piece of shit, I could get a low interest rate home loan, some free food, and an SUV with 20" rims.
For the people that bitch whenever I post a rant, but don't give them anything to look at, here's some stuff I've done/been working on...
Finished this tattoo, real crappy picture (hopefully she'll come back and I can get a healed pic)
Worked on this cover up for a (very) little while yesterday. There's a tribal under there.
Started this a little while ago and haven't gotten the chance to finish it (I have gotten more work done on it, but don't have a more recent pic)
Finished this skate deck up the other day. I haven't been doing much striping lately, so this is really just a number of different practice things jammed together, but it kinda works as a whole.
And, last but certainly not least, my kid drew this for me for my birthday, it's super punk rock sweet.
Now, I'm off to buy a high powered rifle and scout out likely towers.
Very true.... I have some rifles you can borrow. :-)
